Video of the Day: Jeep JK8 Wrangler heads off road in Moab, Utah
Jeep took the cover off its highly anticipated JK8 Independence Wrangler pickup truck conversion last week. Check out this video of the JK8 Independence as it heads off road for the first time!
Since the JK8 is basically a bolt-on kit for the 2007-2011 Jeep Wrangler we wondered how the pickup would handle off road. While the Independence appears to have a great stance we do have some concerns. If you listen closely you can hear what sounds like your grandmother’s arthritic bones snapping back into place as she stretches her legs. We can only hope that this is not the sound of the fiberglass top rubbing as the body flexes during articulation.
We assume that Jeeps that retaining the stock rollbar (or customize their own) will experience less flex than the concept whose bar has been removed. The stock JK Wrangler is rather rigid in its stock form and experience minimal body flex.
Besides that the Jeep looks great as MOPAR puts it through the paces off road on a trail outside Moab, Utah. The JK8 Independence is a conversion kit that allows owners to convert their Wrangler into a pickup truck.
