2011 Camaro SS Convertible vs. 2011 Mustang GT Convertible

With the new 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible set to hit showrooms later this month Motor Trend put it through the paces to see stacks up against competition. The new Camaro SS lines up against the 2011 Mustang GT to see which pony car can shed its top the quickest in this 1/4 mile drag race.

The Camaro SS wins the horsepower battle pumping out 426 horsepower from a 6.2L engine compared to the Mustang GT’s 412 horsepower 5.0L power plant. But don’t right off the solid axle Mustang too soon. The Mustang is nearly 400 lbs lighter than the Camaro, and has been the best selling convertible on the planet for years.
