Cops and Robbers: Man arrested after failing to return a 2012 Mustang GT after test drive.
I personally hate going on test drives with a salesman from the dealership in the car. As a matter of fact I just won’t do it. If you want me to buy the car your are going to give my wife and I a few minutes alone in the car. I will: do donuts, panic stops, 0-60 acceleration, and high speed maneuvers, you can count on it. If I am going dropping $25,000 plus a new car I want to know that I am getting a car I want to drive everyday for the next several years.
So, when I read that Darnell Eugene McNeil, from Dothan, Alabama took off in a brand new 2012 Mustang GT after leaving his salesman standing alone bewildered in the local Kmart parking lot, I couldn’t help but suppress a little chuckle.
McNeil, didn’t however just intend to do donuts in the parking lot. Instead he just drove the car home. The 36 year old male it seems as a habit of trying to take other people’s cars, and was out on bond pending other charges.
Presuming that Darnell was going to get out of the Stang to check out the 5.0L under the hood and kick the tires the salesman stepped out of the car. As he did Darnell stomped on the accelerating and left him staring at the six tail lights. The salesman called the theft in to police who found the vehicle parked outside the defendant’s apartment complex. Bondy’s Ford pressed charges and McNeil was booked into the Houston County Jail where he is being held on a $200,000 bond (the equivalent on seven 2012 5.0L GT Mustangs).
The good news is the car was recovered and Darnell Eugene McNeil won’t be testing driving other people’s cars anytime soon. The bad news is he just made it harder for guys like you and me to take a car out for a spin before we take it home legitimately.

Donuts on a test drive? I’m sorry, but that’s like high school sh*t!
