Jack Roush in serious condition after plane crash.

OSHKOSH, Wis. – (July 27, 2010) – Jack Roush, co-owner of Roush Fenway Racing and chairman of ROUSH® Enterprises, has been hospitalized following a plane crash at Wittman Regional Airport in OshKosh, Wis.

Roush, in town for the annual EAA AirVenture show, was landing his Hawker Beechcraft Premier jet when the accident occurred. He was transported to a local hospital.

Dr. Kevin Wasco, the attending physician, says that Roush is in serious but stable condition. Brenda Strickland, a friend of Roush’s, also was on board the plane. NASCAR journalist Bob Margolis, who is writing a book about Roush’s life, was told that Roush and Strickland were not seriously hurt.

Roush, the NASCAR team owner and Mustang Tuner is expected to recover. Though he is an experienced pilot, Roush has suffered injuries in a plane crash before, in a plane crash near Talladega, Ala., in 2002. He was flying his P-51 aircraft when it crashed into a lake. Roush was unconscious and would have drowned, but he was pulled from the water by Larry Hicks, a retired marine who lived nearby and saw the crash.
